What is the difference between your facials – Gua Sha, Anti-Aging V-Shape, Detox, Eye Rejuvenation?

Most spa menus list four or five facials and give you almost no help choosing between them. You pick one, cross your fingers, and hope for the best. By the end, you feel relaxed (always), but you’re still not entirely sure what just happened to your face or whether it was actually right for your skin.

At Chandee, each of the four facials was built around a different problem. Different techniques, different tools, different outcomes. The Gua Sha Facial and the Anti-Aging V-Shape Facial might both leave your face looking lifted, but they get there through completely different paths and one will suit you far better than the other depending on what your skin actually needs right now.

This guide exists to help you figure that out before you arrive. Read it, notice which section sounds most like your skin, and book accordingly. And if you’re still not sure by the end, our team at the Silom salon are happy to help you choose when you walk in.

The Gua Sha Facial : For Tension, Puffiness, and Skin That Needs to Wake Up

60 or 90 minutes | From 1,700 THB

Gua sha is one of those things that looks dramatic until you experience it, and then makes complete sense. The technique is ancient originating in traditional Chinese medicine and involves a smooth stone tool being pressed and swept along the contours of the face to move stagnant energy and fluid.

At Chandee, this is paired with cool ice therapy to tighten pores and reduce the kind of puffiness that accumulates overnight or after a long flight.

The result is a face that looks sculpted rather than just relaxed. Jawline more defined, cheekbones more visible, the general impression of someone who has slept extremely well. If you’ve ever woken up with a puffy, flat face and wished you could reset it faster than a cold shower allows, this is that reset done properly.

This facial is especially well-matched to guests arriving in Bangkok with jet lag. A long-haul flight is not kind to skin. Neither is city heat, salt-heavy food, or sleeping in a position your face didn’t agree with. The Gua Sha Facial is the quickest way to look like yourself again.

Best for: facial tension and tightness, morning or post-flight puffiness, dull skin that looks flat, anyone wanting a sculpted and contoured result without anything clinical or invasive.

The Anti-Aging V-Shape Facial For Lifting, Firming, and Redefining the Face

60 or 90 minutes | From 1,900 THB

The V-Shape name refers to the silhouette, the facial targets the gradual loss of definition that happens as skin loses elasticity over time. The technique draws from Japanese facial massage traditions: precise tapping movements that stimulate collagen production and firm the underlying muscle structure, followed by a lifting massage and an anti-aging mask formulated to reinforce the work.

This is a treatment about structure. Where the Gua Sha Facial works with the surface, moving fluid, tightening pores, waking up the complexion the V-Shape Facial works deeper, encouraging the skin’s own repair mechanisms to show up. The effect is gradual but cumulative. A single session produces a noticeable lift. Regular sessions compound that.

It’s worth saying: this facial is genuinely popular among guests in their 30s and 40s who’ve noticed a softening around the jawline or a loss of definition they can’t quite explain. It’s also popular with guests who simply want to arrive somewhere feeling put-together, even after a few days of Bangkok eating and exploring.

Best for: sagging skin or loss of firmness, fine lines, a jawline that’s lost definition, anyone whose skin is beginning to show the effects of time and wants to address that with something more than surface hydration.

The Detox Deep Cleansing Facial : For Congested, Oily, or City-Polluted Skin

90 minutes | 2,000 THB

Bangkok is one of the most dynamic cities in the world to visit. It’s also one of the more demanding ones for your pores. The heat, the humidity, the particulate matter in the air, the SPF you’re reapplying every two hours all of it accumulates. Skin that looked fine when you left home can feel congested and dull within a few days of being here.

The Detox Deep Cleansing Facial was designed for exactly this scenario. Botanical charcoal is the anchor ingredient, it draws out deep-pore impurities in a way that surface cleansers simply can’t reach. This is combined with lymphatic massage to support the skin’s own drainage and detox functions, and a purifying mask to close everything out. The result is skin that feels genuinely clear rather than just momentarily clean.

At 90 minutes, this is the longest standalone facial on the menu and it earns the time. Thorough cleansing can’t be rushed. If you’re spending more than a few days in Bangkok and your skin is the kind that reacts to heat and environment, this is worth scheduling mid-trip rather than at the end, so your skin has time to visibly benefit while you’re still here.

Best for : oily or congested skin, clogged pores, breakouts linked to heat or city pollution, guests who want a genuine deep clean rather than a hydrating surface treatment.

Soothing Eye Facial : For Dark Circles, Puffiness, and Screen-Tired Eyes

60 minutes | 1,000 THB

The eye area is where stress, sleep deprivation, and screen time all show up first and most visibly. Dark circles, puffiness, fine lines at the corners – these are almost universal concerns and among the hardest to address at home.

The Eye Rejuvenation facial is a full 60-minute session dedicated entirely to this one small area. The technique is Japanese three-finger massage – precise, light-pressure movements that work the delicate tissue around the eye without pulling or stressing the skin. Cool spoon therapy follows, which reduces puffiness the way a cold compress does but with far more control. Intensive hydrating patches complete the session, working while the massage has already opened the skin to absorb more.

It sounds niche and it is, in the sense that it does one thing rather than many things. But for guests whose eyes are the first thing they notice in the mirror every morning, this level of focus is exactly what’s needed. It’s also a popular add-on for guests who’ve booked a head spa or full-body massage and want to address the eye area while they’re already here.

Best for: dark circles, persistent puffiness under the eyes, fine lines at the eye corners, anyone whose eyes look tired regardless of how much sleep they’ve had.

How to Choose : A Simple Framework

If you’re standing at the menu and still not sure, ask yourself one question: what do you most want to look different when you leave?

And if the answer is “all of the above” that’s what the Chandee Master Course is for. At 180 minutes, it combines a full body massage with a multi-element facial and the signature 17-step head spa ritual. It’s everything, unhurried. Consider it if you have an afternoon and you’re serious about switching off completely.
