The seventeen steps, in order

Most scalp washes last three minutes. Ours takes seventeen steps. Each one has a place in the sequence, and the order is the point. This is the ritual our therapists trained on, performed the same way for every guest, whether it is your first visit or your fortieth.

Cooling Gua Sha Stone Eye Mask - We place a cooling Gua Sha stone eye mask on your face. Relaxes facial muscles and calms the mind at the start.
Sound of Wind Chime (ASMR) - Soothing wind chime sounds fill the air. Creates a soothing sensory atmosphere and triggers relaxation.
Tibetan Singing Bowl (ASMR) - Resonant tones from a Tibetan singing bowl. Balances energy and deepens relaxation through sound therapy.
Scalp Massage with Head Claw Tool - Gentle massage using a metal head claw massager. Stimulates scalp & relieves tension on pressure points.
Gua Sha Comb Ritual - Helps release tension, improve circulation, and awaken pressure points across the scalp.
Sandalwood Aromatic Comb - The smooth strokes help relax the nervous system while reducing tangles and enhancing sensory comfort.
Dual Wooden Comb Massage - A relaxing scalp massage using wide-tooth and circular wooden combs to smooth, detangle, and stimulate.
Scalp Massage with Electric Massager - Vibration therapy using an electric head massager, releases tightness in the scalp with deep tissue relaxation.
Oil Massage on Neck and Shoulders - Therapeutic massage with organic essential oils. Relieves muscle tension and enhances relaxation.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage - Specialized massage technique along the lymph nodes in the neck. Reduces swelling and promotes detoxification.
Wet Hair and Shampoo Twice - Double cleansing with premium organic shampoo from Yves Rocher (Kerastase add-on available on request).
Apply Keratin Treatment - Nourishing keratin application with simultaneous massage. Strengthens and nourishes hair fibers.
Water Ring Massage (ASMR) - The famous Vietnamese ring of water technique - warm water flows in a circular pattern over your head.
Arm Massage - Relaxing arm massage performed during the Water Ring Massage to enhance circulation and relaxation.
Final Neck & Shoulder Massage - Concluding massage to release any remaining tension. Deepens relaxation before finishing, complete stress relief.
Scalp Serum Infusion - A revitalizing scalp serum is applied to deeply nourish, hydrate, and enhance overall scalp health.
Blow-Dry and normal styling - Hair blow drying in our dedicated salon area. Leaves hair smooth, shiny, and ready to go.

Guests often ask when the massage begins. The honest answer is that it began at step one. The warm water, the pace of the hands, the pauses between movements, all of it is deliberate. By the middle of the sequence most guests have stopped checking the time.

The final steps slow further. The rinse becomes quieter, the pressure lighter, and many guests are asleep before the towel wrap. We let them stay there a moment. Nobody is hurried out of that state.

Head spa questions, answered

What is the difference between the 60 and 90 minute head spa?
The 60 minute ritual covers 12 of the steps and a scalp, neck, and shoulder massage. The 90 minute covers the complete 17-step ritual, with more room to breathe, so the whole thing slows down. If it is your first head spa, or you have come to switch off completely, choose the 90.
Is a head spa good for sleep and jet lag?
Many guests book specifically to reset after a long flight. The combination of scalp pressure points, warm water sounds, and a dim, quiet room helps the body settle. Plenty of guests fall asleep partway through. We open until 11pm partly for this reason.
Is the head spa safe for coloured or treated hair?
Yes. We use gentle Yves Rocher organic shampoo and no harsh products. The treatment cleanses and conditions the scalp and hair without stripping colour.
Do you dry my hair afterwards?
Yes. A gentle blow dry is included, so you leave ready for the rest of your day or evening.
Can I add a massage or a facial?
Yes, and most guests do. You can combine the head spa with an aroma oil or Thai massage, or choose one of our signature packages that includes a full body massage and our facials in the same visit.
Can I get a head spa today, or do I need to book ahead?
Booking ahead is always recommended, regardless of location, as availability fills quickly. Sukhumvit 39 simply has more head spa beds (10, versus 6 in Silom), so it can sometimes offer a little more same-day flexibility, though both locations are equally popular.
