Chandee’s 17-step Signature Head & Hair Spa ritual

Ring of Water with Shampoo in Hair during Hair Spa treatment in Chandee Head Spa salon in Sukhumvit 39

Why the Sequence Matters

The 17-step ritual is designed around one principle: that deep relaxation cannot be rushed into, only led toward. Each step moves you one stage further from wherever you started.

The opening three steps: the Gua Sha eye mask, the wind chime, the Tibetan singing bowl, are not preamble. They are the treatment beginning. By the time the head claw tool arrives at Step 4, your nervous system is already shifting. The four scalp tools that follow, each applying different pressure and texture across the scalp, build circulation progressively before the oil massage at Step 9 and lymphatic drainage at Step 10 address the neck and the tissue beneath.

The hair mask at Step 8 works while the massage does. The Ring of Water at Step 13 arrives after the scalp has been worked from every angle and the body is already deep in rest. What follows, the rinse, the final neck and shoulder massage, the serum, the blow-dry, is the return. Gradual, unhurried, complete.

Chandee’s therapists train for weeks on this sequence. Not just on the individual techniques, but on the pacing, the transitions, and the quality of presence between steps. It is why guests who have had head spas elsewhere describe Chandee differently. Read more in our post on why the 17 steps take weeks to learn.

Guests booking 60-minute sessions experience the 12-step ritual – the same Vietnamese foundation and Ring of Water centrepiece, focused on the hair treatment itself.

Book a 90-minute session

When guests ask what makes Chandee different, the answer usually starts here: our 17-step Signature Head Spa ritual. It’s the treatment most people fall asleep during, and the reason so many guests come back the next day. Every step is intentional, building on the last, moving you from the outside world into a state of deep calm. From the moment the Gua Sha stone eye mask is placed on your face to the final blow-dry, this is 90 minutes designed around one goal: genuine, deep relaxation. Here is exactly what to expect, step by step.

The 17 Steps

Step 1: Cooling Gua Sha Stone Eye Mask
We place a cooling Gua Sha stone eye mask on your face. It relaxes facial muscles and begins to calm the mind right from the start.

Step 2: Sound of Wind Chime (ASMR)
Soothing wind chime sounds fill the air, creating a sensory atmosphere that signals your nervous system to slow down and let go.

Step 3: Tibetan Singing Bowl (ASMR)
Resonant tones from a Tibetan singing bowl balance energy and deepen relaxation through gentle sound therapy.

Step 4: Scalp Massage with Head Claw Tool
Your therapist uses a metal head claw massager for a gentle, precise scalp massage that stimulates circulation and relieves tension at pressure points.

Step 5: Gua Sha Comb & Sandalwood Comb
Therapeutic combing with traditional tools improves scalp circulation and provides a natural cooling sensation along the scalp.

Step 6: Dual Wooden Comb Massage
A relaxing scalp massage using wide-tooth and circular wooden combs to smooth, detangle, and stimulate the scalp.

Step 7: Scalp Massage with Electric Massager
Vibration therapy using an electric head massager releases tightness in the scalp with deep tissue relaxation.

Step 8: Nourishing Hair Mask
An intensive hair mask treatment deeply hydrates, repairs, and enhances shine for silky, healthy-looking hair.

Step 9: Oil Massage on Neck and Shoulders
Therapeutic massage with organic essential oils relieves muscle tension and enhances overall relaxation.

Step 10: Lymphatic Drainage Massage
A specialised massage technique along the lymph nodes in the neck reduces swelling and promotes detoxification.

Step 11: Wet Hair and Shampoo Twice
Double cleansing with premium organic shampoo from Yves Rocher (Kerastase upgrade available on request).

Step 12: Apply Keratin Treatment
A nourishing keratin application with simultaneous massage strengthens and nourishes hair fibres.

Step 13: Water Ring Massage (ASMR)
The famous Vietnamese Ring of Water technique: warm water flows in a circular pattern over your head. This is the moment most guests fall asleep.

Step 14: Rinse Keratin Treatment
Thorough rinsing removes all treatment residue, leaving hair soft and smooth.

Step 15: Final Neck & Shoulder Massage
A concluding massage releases any remaining tension and deepens relaxation before the final steps.

Step 16: Scalp Serum Infusion
A revitalising scalp serum is applied to deeply nourish, hydrate, and enhance overall scalp health.

Step 17: Blow-Dry and Normal Styling
Hair blow-drying in our dedicated salon area. You leave with hair smooth, shiny, and ready to go.

After Your Treatment
Every head spa at Chandee ends the same way: herbal tea, a light snack, and a small thank-you gift. It’s a moment to stay still a little longer before stepping back into Bangkok.
